HIMYAR ABDULMOGHNI

Dr. Himyar Abdulmoghni is a highly experienced professional with over 20 years of diverse experience in management and leadership roles in humanitarian and development contexts. He has worked with various organizations, including the government, NGOs, academia, international NGOs, and the United Nations.

Dr. Abdulmoghni holds an MBA from Open University-Malaysia and a diploma in Social Sciences from Costa Rica University and graduated with a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from Sana'a University in 1996.

Throughout his career, Dr. Abdulmoghni has worked in Yemen, Jordan, Zambia, Iraq, and Equatorial Guinea. He has held key positions such as Deputy Representative and Humanitarian Coordinator for UNFPA, where he provided program leadership, strategic guidance, and oversight. He has advocated for the inclusion of the ICPD agenda in national policies, plans, and strategies, represented UNFPA's mandate within the UN, and fostered partnerships with donors and development partners.

Dr. Abdulmoghni's experience includes managing programs, supporting national capacity development, resource mobilization, and evidence-based advocacy. He has worked on reproductive health, youth, gender, and GBV issues and has been involved in emergency response and humanitarian interventions.
