UNFPA has been leading for the past years the coordination of the planning for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign as co-chair of the Gender-Based Violence Sub-Working Group (GBV SWG), along with UNHCR.

In 2021, and under the sub-national theme “Controlling behaviors: limiting my choices and my power” that was developed in consultation with more than 250 women, men, girls and boys from both host and refugee communities, UNFPA Jordan led the coordination of the 16 Days Taskforce that consisted of in total 23 organizations members of the GBV SWG including United Nations agencies, INGOs, NGOs and local women’s organizations, in organizing several activities adapting the campaigning to the COVID-19 situation by using different online outreach methods, in addition to the in-person activities.
