Dania, a 37-year-old mother of five, learned about the Women and Girls Safe Space through the dedicated field team. Her life was entangled in a web of challenges that required multiple interventions. Beginning with remote case management and individual sessions, she eventually found her way to the center. Dania's struggles were compounded by a medical condition, scoliosis in her spine, which her abusive husband exploited, leaving her anxious, shattered, and isolated.

I used to cry constantly, feeling shattered and utterly alone. But now, I'm speaking out and standing strong. I won't let fear rule me, not even my husband.

Dania declared, her determination evident.

Assessing Dania's needs comprehensively, the case manager developed a tailored response plan. Referrals were made for her daughter's and son's health assistance, her daughter's education, and even cash aid for Dania herself. Working collaboratively, they tackled her emotional burden with a blend of positive self-image, self-confidence building, problem-solving training, and leveraging her strengths through problem-focused therapy.

Dania's journey wasn't solitary. Engaging in psychological and social support sessions with her case manager, she discovered an empathetic environment where her thoughts were understood and her opinions mattered. Her empowerment spread beyond these sessions, extending into recreational activities like carpentry and electricity workshops. She learned skills that she in turn taught to women in her community, unable to attend the center themselves.

Reflecting on her transformation, Dania affirmed, "The day I connected with the center and its services remains etched in my memory. It gave me the courage to face life's challenges head-on. Through the unwavering support, I've become a source of strength, an example, and a role model for fellow women. Today, I stand tall, empowering survivors of gender-based violence."
