Karak, October 7, 2024 — The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Jordan, in collaboration with Zain Jordan and the Institute for Family Health (IFH), is proud to announce the launch of the second patch of the 2024 “Me and My Mobile” program at the Zain Innovation Center (ZINC) located in Mutah University, Karak. This session includes the participation of 15 women and complements the ongoing session in the Capital Governorate, which has been running since September with the participation of 15 young women.

The "Me and My Mobile" program is designed to empower participants with essential digital skills by covering key topics such as online gender-based violence, digital financial services, safe usage of social media, email creation and security, cybercrimes, digital marketing, and navigating commonly used digital applications. These modules are delivered by a group of specialized trainers and experts in the digital field, ensuring a comprehensive and impactful learning experience.

This initiative is part of the long-standing strategic partnership between UNFPA, Zain Jordan, and the Institute for Family Health, which has been active for the past six years. The program aims to contribute to the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 on gender equality. Since its inception, the program has empowered 139 women and young women of various ages and backgrounds from all governorates across the Kingdom.

The partners remain committed to enhancing the digital capabilities of women and young women in Jordan, equipping them with the necessary skills to thrive in an increasingly digital world and to overcome the challenges they may face. Through initiatives like “Me and My Mobile,” UNFPA, Zain Jordan, and IFH continue to foster a more inclusive digital environment, reinforcing their dedication to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.
