On June 22, 2021, ASG and UNFPA DED-M Mr. Ib Petersen arrived in Jordan on a two-day official visit. He met with high-level officials from MOH, MoFA &MoY. He also convened with Ms. Enshrah Ahmed Head of UNFPA-Jordan and later on with Yemen and Syria Hubs representatives, as well as the RCO in Jordan. JCO personnel had a luncheon with Mr. Ib and they exchanged thoughts.

Petersen’s tour included a gathering with PSEA champions and a roundtable meeting on Youth, Peace and Security Agenda in Jordan. Next on the UN Official’s program were some field visits starting with IFH – SRH Comprehensive Center in Sweileh, where he toured the facility and observed the services provided to Jordanians and Syrian refugees alike. Moreover, he went to Zaatari camp SRH clinic and the Women and Girls Safe Space, which are run by UNFPA.
He commended the workers on the quality health care and family planning services provided and thanked them for almost 14,000 deliveries with Zero maternal deaths.
